This is the work we had after working on it all on the video previously and is all what was done. It shows what we were working on and we worked out our target audience and also the genre of music we wanted to use along with all the issues we may have around this.
We chose the 16-30 category as this we feel is a good audience to have as we are in this category and also, we can get focus groups from this also as the school has year 11 students and also teachers which can be asked questions. This category also listen to the music genre we chose the most, folk rock as this genre aims at this market so we feel this would be the best audience to aim at as it fits with our conventions as our actors will also probably be of this age as we can find these actors at our school.
Folk rock is a genre all 3 of us enjoy and know a good amount of knowledge about so we felt this was a good category. The category also has lots of bands which are unsigned which also means it is more able to use their music than a popular artist such as Kanye West etc.The bands also write music which has lyrics what have meaning and this is good as we can also link our music video much better to the lyrics and it also gives us some good ideas to start with so we have a better plan from the beginning.
The genre is hard to choose also though as some of the music does not have music videos made already, especially unsigned artists so we will have to use similar ,more popular bands to help us with ideas but we feel we can do this and we feel it is able to be done.
The next step is to find out which song we want to use and then we can start filming the music video. We will be sorting this out soon and hopefully have it sorted by the end of the week as then we will have enough time to complete everything else such as the preliminary tasks.
