Question 4 Evaluation
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages

This was made using Bubbl.us, a mind map creating website and I thought this would be the best way to show this due to the amount of things which need over viewing.
The technologies used throughout constantly varied but I think the ones used mainly were computers, iPads, camera and applications such as photo shop word and PowerPoint. All these programmes were used throughout so that we had a good backbone to work from. The programmes used rarely were used to add change ad make it look more clear or the were speciality and were only used when needed such as adobe elements.
The technologies I used help us in many ways. The technologies we used helped make the products easier to make. All these technologies also created the feel we wanted due to there versatility and how applications like premier elements helped us create the feel we wanted throughout.

Question 2 Evaluation
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?
http://prezi.com/m8vwuyhukyv8/q2-how-effective-is-the-combination-of-your-main-product-an/
I think in this Prezi I created there is a great use of technology throughout as I used many editing skills in the main video. I spent several hours learning these skills after looking at other examples from the website OCR have set up to take a look at:
weebly ocr
I noticed that the higher level blogs were using freeze frames and adding two videos running at the same time so I tried this myself and for a first time, I feel this come out well. I also thing the picture appearing and disappearing was good also as this fills the space around me and also makes it feel more interactive.
If I was to improve this I would maybe learn a few more skills to make this even better but I think this is still a good use of I.C.T throughout. Prezi was also something new I have not used before and again, for a first time I think is good, the programme is really easy to use and navigate and will use it more now I have tried and tested it.
Question 1 evaluation
Evaluation for the music video;
Evaluation for the Digipak and music magazine advert.

My Digipak and music magazine have mainly followed the conventions of the products in this genre due to the success of this. I wanted a natural feel not linked to the band as I feel this reflects the genre but there are several folk bands such as Mumford and sons which have not followed this convention with the band being centre of the picture. I felt that I did not want this approach, instead I wanted a natural feel throughout so that it linked with the song better. I followed conventions also when designing the music magazine advert due to this being very important on the marketing side. I followed the conventions where there is large text to show the name of the band and the song. Also I added the outlets at the bottoms like large magazine advert creators do also as this allows places to buy a product. I also challenged the convention for having the band in the background in advertising. Instead I wanted to develop from what I had created from my Digipak and follow this so that when people see the advertisement they will know more of what the album will look like with the natural feel.
I wanted the two ancillary tasks to work with the music video and I feel this worked because they link together with the nature idea and 'trees' as the main idea behind it all. I feel this succeeded and it works as it links well with the song. Also, it challenges some parts due to the selling of a band these days and the brand identity which comes from having the band as key on all marketing material. I wanted to challenge this and I feel it has worked as it works together and still links well with the genre.

The music video 1st edit.
This is our first edit, the rough edit of our music video. I think this is at an ok level but it can be improved in several ways. The shots at the beginning are ok but the sound is just a little out from shot to shot, we need to find a way to sort this out and make it work.
We also have parts throughout the video in which we need to try and speed up to fit in with the music video. Some parts are a little too slow and do not fit with the rest.
We are impressed with the lip syncing part of the video though as this is fast paced and works with the music, something we aimed to do. This is my personal favourite part and I hope that we can get the whole video to this level.
Our media teacher agreed with us on this and said there is room for improvement and gave it a mark out of 25, but said that this can be brought up to 30 with existing video shots etc. We will be trying to aim for this and do what we can to make it better.
