The music video 1st edit.

This is our first edit, the rough edit of our music video. I think this is at an ok level but it can be improved in several ways. The shots at the beginning are ok but the sound is just a little out from shot to shot, we need to find a way to sort this out and make it work.

We also have parts throughout the video in which we need to try and speed up to fit in with the music video. Some parts are a little too slow and do not fit with the rest.
We are impressed with the lip syncing part of the video though as this is fast paced and works with the music, something we aimed to do. This is my personal favourite part and I hope that we can get the whole video to this level.

Our media teacher agreed with us on this and said there is room for improvement and gave it a mark out of 25, but said that this can be brought up to 30 with existing video shots etc. We will be trying to aim for this and do what we can to make it better.

Music Magazine final

This is the final music magazine after all changes and is now complete. I think this has gone well as it has turned out how I wanted it to. The Magazine, to me is clear and well laid out and the fonts work together. I also think this looks professional as it has all the traits of a music magazine advert and follows the conventions. I followed the basic style from folk adverts and also use a font which shows this. I also wanted a picture which matched the lyrics, not promoting the group itself, something which matches other folk adverts.

I also incorporated social networks and places to buy the music so that it looks more professional and I positioned it all so that it fits with the rest of the magazine. I added some effects on text and also on the background picture so it fitted correctly with the text etc.

I think to improve I could have used more tools and skills I have not learnt yet and could have researched a bit more into fonts. I did not have much trouble except positioning some parts and it all came together well.

Digipak Final Piece

This is my final piece for my Digipak's. I think this has gone well from the start after having to do several changes to get how it is now. I had to play around with fonts so that they showed up correctly but at the same time, try and keep them working together so that the conventions were correct.

The piece in my opinion is professional and all the photos work together and were all taken by me on my camera. I also created all this myself with only guidance from the teacher and my previous group where needed but I already had sufficient photo shop skills from last year. I also feel it fits the conventions from other Digipak's but also challenges some conventions also such as the fonts for the front and back covers.

To make this better I could have used different skills which I would have had to learnt to make it look more professional. I could of also done more research as I could never had enough to make this, every piece is essential.

Story on Middle page of Digipak

I wanted to create a short paragraph welcoming the buyer to the album and thanking them for buying the Digipak, used many times in the past with other albums:

I wanted to do this for my Digipak as although I have not found another folk album with this, I feel it will work well with the genre and make it look more professional. CD's use this to thank the listener for purchasing the album and also tell a bit about how the album was made and I felt this would be suitable for my Digipak and this is what I have come up with and is now the final piece for the middle page, the first one you will see when opening up the Digipak.

This is what I have wrote for this page and I think it works well with the rest of the Album and fits the Genre well. It is talking about how the songs were made and where the lyrics come from and is giving more information the the listener, and making it more based on the music than anything, something folk tries to do.

Digipak picture

This is a picture I took from my camera and cropped together to get what I wanted. I then put this in my Digipak and I will now write the 'story' about the album and band. I think this works well with our conventions as the music is about the lyrics, not the people singing unlike Pop and I think this will also work well with the rest of my Digipak.

Back cover with copyright

This is how far my back cover has now developed. I have now created a copyright paragraph from the bottom from looking at the Mumford and Sons album and I put this into my own words. I think this makes it look more professional and more like a real album you may buy.

Digipak back cover details

This is something I have noticed and wanted to recreate to make the album look much more professional. This Is a short piece of writing which is setting out the terms etc and I am going to copy this onto my Digipak.

Digipak so far

I have changed my Digipak for several things. The back cover I had before did not work as the writing did not fit correctly so it did not work. I instead chose to use it as my front cover as it looks like it is going to work well so far. I also got this other picture instead from my camera of a dog running across Bawsey pits showing freedom. I did this with some help from somebody walking there dog and got this picture which I really liked.

So far I think this is going well and hope to keep improving, this is only 1/2 of my Digipak and will start the other half once this is done.

Back cover Digipak Final

I chose some photos I took a while back from my camera of nature and found a great picture I can use and show the day to night mode. I want as this was take in my back garden and I can take this photo with more light to get that feel. I the cropped it so that it fit onto my Digipak and I also made some small minor edits to make it look slightly better. I think this looks good and it came out how I wanted it to. I have cropped it to the correct place and I think it will work well with my conventions.

Digipak layout

This is my first layout for the inside of the Digipak, with 3 sides to fill.

This is my first start to the Digipak and I will now find the right photos to go throughout the Digipak. I want it to all work together so that it works well with each slide ad does not look out of place.

Music Magazine Advert V

This is my advert so far. I have stuck to the characteristics I wanted to and constantly looked at the conventions. I ave made this so far and I am happy with where I am and it is now coming to a final, all I would like to do now is add a few little adjustments to make it look clearer and then it will be finished so that I can focus on my Digipak.

Music Advert so far IV

I wanted to create stars to go under the review so I made the layout ad duplicated this so that I had 5 of these and right clicked to change its properties as seen below:

I then made these changes to all of the stars so they look more professional ad not so cheesy and the put them in the correct position so they sat where I wanted them to and not being on a white background and this is where it is so far;

I think so far my music magazine advert is going well. It is fitting the conventions I wanted it to and everything is coming along fine. The colours also work well together and I think its is key to making it look professional. I am trying to give it a simple look throughout to match other magazine adverts of this genre and I think so far it is good.

Magazine Advet so far III

This is what I have done today. I have looked at what fonts work and showed them to others in my class but I decided to stick with the same font as it does not work when using others. It does not fit the convention as it is meat to be simple and clear. I am also using what a major music magazine has said about the song also as this is a good selling point for the magazine advert.
I am now finding a way to create stars as they are not in the photo shop inventory and I will add these underneath to make it look more professional.
